  • Quality control

Quality control is my passion. I have a perfectionist's eye for detail, and my background in linguistics and journalism has given me the understanding of the structure of language needed to produce a reader-friendly, coherent text that honors the semantic, syntactic, morphological and pragmatic nuances of language. In addition, I studied typography as part of my journalism class in visual communication.

I distinguish between editing and proofreading as follows:
    • Editing — the target text is checked sentence by sentence against the source text to ensure accuracy of translation. Naturally, it is also checked for linguistic accuracy and reader-friendliness.

    • Proofreading — the target text is checked for linguistic accuracy and reader-friendliness, but only compared to the source text if something seems amiss.
